Best Wishes from Pete Kinsey. Name: peter kinsey CommentsYour website certainly brought back many happy memories for me ,especially dancing at the National in Dublin in the1970s into the 1980s.I was pleased that you gave a mention to Carole and New Blues, as Carole was a good friend of mine, unfortunately now we have lost touch. Name: Dennis Murphy CommentsHope you two are Keeping well Name: bernadette conway CommentsI am trying to find any information whatever about my late brother-Joe Conway AKA.Gary Street.Any facts relating to his music would be greatly appreciated. Thank-you Name: Anthony Grace CommentsHi Kim... Someone called Ian Gallagher mailed me some links, including yours! I'm Irish and living here in North California for the last two years. Actually, I'm an Internet Systems Specialist for Sutter County (just got the job!!) The minute I heard about the "health ad", I remembered you; I knew you looked familiar! I played lead guitar with The Kenny Ryder Band (ex-Tweed) for about six months over 1979/80. Prior to that, I had my own Blues/Rock Band called Stonefree. I jammed with the likes of Ray Davies, The Chieftains (very drunk affair in Dingle in the mid-80's..), Eric Bell of Thin Lizzy (Whiskey in the Jar fame.. great guy: I was only 14 when I met him with Skid Row and he sat me down to give me a few pointers....) I can't believe I stumbled into these sites... I swear, I wasn't even looking! I haven't really played since 1980, except briefly in the summer of 1986. The photo of The Kenny Ryder Band was taken before I joined. Somewhere I have the publicity shot with me in the new lineup the year after that was taken, so I must have a root around. The black guy on the right went to school with me; his name is Eugene Sweeney. We used to play together around 1974, but I don't know where he ended up. Where are you now Kim... in Cali? Are you still performing. I'll stop here before I get any more homesick :-( Best Wishes on a wonderful site.... Anthony Grace. Name: O DAVE Commentsgreat site. Name: Reg CommentsI found your website and its contents quite moving. Although I have never heard of your band I did live in Sligo during the 50s/60s and remember all too well the Silver Slipper in Strandhill. If my memory serves me right I was in the `Slipper`the night it first opened and remember the Byrne family who owned it then. I danced to bands such as the Clipper Carlton, Dickie Rock and the Miami Showband, The Royal Showband and numerous others. Reading your website has stirred up long forgotten memories of my youth. I left Sligo in 1963 never to return but I must say I experienced more happiness there I have ever found anywhere else in the world.. Best of Luck in the future, Reg. Name: Gabriel Donohue CommentsSeems like we've travelled some of the same boreens. I used to play w the Magic Band around 1977. I now run a recording studio and play all over the US. www.gabrieldonohue.com Name: John CommentsCongratulations on your website. I enjoyed the memories of the ballroom scene in the 70's and 80's in Ireland. Name: seamus winters Commentsweb site very good . from tyrone spent few good nights in silgo seamus good luck to you all Name: Ronnie Stewart CommentsIt is great to see that you have taken the time to put together a complete history of your band from beginning to date I enjoyed dancing to your music on several occasions and I must admit I miss that band era but time marches on , although as I am sure your are aware there has been a great showband revivals and a lot have lived to play another day. I now live in Germany and go home every 5/6 weeks I always try to catch an old live act while at home . I seen James (have bass will work) last year with Tommy Fleming, and on guitar was Ted the Letterkenny wizard. Many thanks for your site it brought back many many HAPPY memories Keep up the good work and a Very Happy New Year to You and All. Kindest Regards Ronnie Stewart Name: P.J.
